IKEA ANTILOP highchair with safety belt
Cheapest freestanding chair here
A freestanding chair rated to 15 kg and 3 years, with a safety belt and legs that come off for carrying. The tray and cushion are sold separately. The NHS says to use a 5-point harness in a highchair, so check this belt against that, or ask at the store.

7.6/10
It's for a family on a tight budget, or anyone wanting a spare for a grandparent's house. It isn't for parents who want a 5-point harness, a footrest or an adjustable seat.
Good
- The lowest price in our highchair list, for a chair rated to 3 years or 15kg
- Legs come off without tools for carrying, by IKEA's and Mumsnet's accounts
- Few places for food to hide, say Mumsnet and BabyGearLab
Less good
- Mumsnet and BabyGearLab both list a three-point harness, while the NHS says 5-point. IKEA's page gives no number
- Older stock from one supplier was recalled in 2012 over the buckle, so check a second-hand one
- No footrest, and no height or seat adjustment
- BabyGearLab found the tray hard and loud to take off
- The tray and cushion cost extra, so the headline price isn't the whole bill for most families
